Job Description

Job Summary:


This position will work at Executive level to define and manage the global learning curriculum for the Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) portfolio, define new global content development projects necessary to achieve the required outcomes for EY. It will capture, assess and prioritize skills needs, provide advice and determine the most effective solutions to enhance performance. The role will manage relationships with business leaders in TAS and Region talent teams as directed by the TAS Global Portfolio Lead. The role will also manage effective performance reporting for their sub-client/account to stakeholders

 
Purpose of the Job:
  • Responsible for business partnering and managing relationships for a portion of the TAS “client account/portfolio”

  • Work proactively to understand the direction of TAS, the required skills and knowledge of their people and to define and maintain effective learning curricula to enable their performance agenda

  • Manage the global learning “intake” process for TAS learning to capture and assess needs from Executive and Region stakeholders, validate and prioritize learning needs and to help form the annual new content development plan for Global learning at Executive level working to the agreed annual curriculum planning process

  • Manage and maintain the curriculum plan and catalog for a portion of the portfolio, review and update the existing catalog, and align Global and Region catalogs to avoid duplication where required

  • Identify and assess skills needs (or engage Design colleagues where required) to ensure root causes are identified and determine the optimal learning and talent solutions

  • Work with Executive colleagues to reduce learning duplication across client portfolios and between the Executive and Regions

  • Communicate learning prioritization and budget/planning decisions to business and Regions. Resolve issues of conflict or disagreement, working with other learning colleagues across “account” groups

  • Manage ad hoc requests for learning to ensure that high priority ad hoc requests for a business “account” are prioritized and scheduled appropriately in the annual development plan. Communicate changes to the schedule and manage stakeholder challenges

  • Oversee and approve the development of learning solution plans: confirm the scope, approach and resource model required to deliver the learning solution in design and development

  • Work with the Portfolio Design and Deployment teams at Executive level to ensure that agreed Learning solutions are designed and deployed as planned to achieve required business outcomes

  • Ensure the business provides the inputs needed to start and run learning design initiatives on time (e.g. Subject Matter Resource networks)

  • Manage communication with business stakeholders on the learning portfolio overall to ensure they are updated on the status of learning initiatives throughout the lifecycle

  • Build and maintain effective relationships outside Learning (e.g. Talent Development, Strategic Talent Consultants, Knowledge) to ensure learning can propose and facilitate holistic solutions

  • Deliver reporting to agreed business and talent stakeholders on learning performance against agreed standards and metrics in a timely way. Highlight and resolve any issues with business accounts involving learning colleagues as required

  • Promote and enforce a strong ‘one team’ culture in Learning and working with other leaders to build one high performing team

  • Where required, lead or participate in strategic learning or learning operational change initiatives

  • Contribute to learning facilitation (where required)

 
Supervision Responsibilities:
  • Interact extensively with Executive stakeholders and Region Talent colleagues. Build and maintain effective relationships to manage crucial relationships for the agreed internal “account/portfolio” (e.g. Function)

  • Responsible for ensuring the business receives proactive and strong advice as to how learning can enhance business performance

  • Manage relationships at Executive and Region level to capture needs from the business, define and maintain learning curricula and develop and facilitate the execution of annual plans

  • Responsible for ensuring that learning needs for a Function line are captured and prioritized effectively and budget/plans clearly understood by key stakeholders

  • Responsible for reducing duplication of learning content by ensuring learning solutions are delivered at Executive level (by the appropriate portfolio team) wherever possible

  • Review learning performance against agreed targets and report to the business on the overall learning portfolio

  • Independently maintain and use (when appropriate) an internal network of contacts in other EY practices/departments that will enable personal effectiveness in the position

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
  • Strong business acumen

  • Strong knowledge of talent and learning strategies and experience to implement them effectively

  • Knowledge of human performance improvement (HPI) principles, models and processes for root causes analysis, and recommendation of training and non-training solutions to solve performance problems or maximize performance opportunities

  • Strong knowledge of - and commitment to optimize - learning processes and standards

  • Strong internal client-facing experience and skills. The ability to forge strong relationships with senior leaders to understand their business priorities and to help achieve them through talent and learning solutions

  • Strong consulting skills - the ability to understand and challenge client requirements, and to determine the most appropriate solutions

  • Strong project management skills - the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the Learning Executive and Regional teams to deliver quality and timely solutions to clients

  • Strong organizational skills - the ability to set priorities, allocate budget and work within effective time frames

  • Strong influencing and communication skills - maturity to interact with senior leaders in the organization, and (where required) to resolve issues or challenges as they arise

  • Strong collaboration skills - work effectively with other members of the Learning team ensuring clients’ needs and expectations are met

  • Ability to use Learning technology and tools, as well as other relevant talent systems and knowledge tools

 
Other Requirements:
  • Due to global nature of the role; travel and willingness to work alternative hours will be required

 
Job Requirements:
 
Education:
  • Educated to degree level in a related discipline
  • Higher professional or masters qualification in a related discipline is preferred, not required

 
Experience:
  • Significant experience in a closely related senior learning or talent function role

  • Demonstrable experience of understanding internal client/business strategy and successfully defining and implementing talent/learning solutions that address business needs on a global level and/or to a dispersed client base

  • Demonstrable experience of having built, fostered and maintained strong relationships with business customers/clients at a senior level

  • Experience of operating at a senior level, providing credible trusted advice to address their challenges, diagnose the root causes of performance gaps and recommend learning and non-learning solutions

  • Demonstrable experience of leading teams of Learning/Talent experts to deliver exceptional results

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering change initiatives in global, matrix organizations (such as EY)

  • Demonstrable experience of thinking and acting strategically and commercially in pursuit of the wider EY business objectives

  • Demonstrable experience of working in fast-paced, stressful environments to deliver required results

 
Certification Requirements:
  • Higher professional or masters qualification in a related discipline is preferred, not required

  • Active membership in related professional bodies or industry groups is preferred, not required
