As a Global Category Manager - Mechanical Components you will be responsible for defining, qualifying and developing a supplier base best fitted to support the demand of ABB Robotics and deliver outstanding performances from solution through TCO level, in Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area in Shanghai, China and Vasteras, Sweden
Reporting to the GPG P&L Manager, you will be supporting Robotics manufacturing plant performance, and product portfolio serial life management form NPI to classic phase.
Your responsibilities
- Planning Strategy 2025 with global and local implementation, ensuring the capability and capacity of the supplier base to support the business requirements of ABB Robotics
- Ensuring sustainability on the supply chain with TCO cost optimization and Risk mitigation. Managing supplier development plan according to capabilities and technologic needs
- Digitalizing with the continuous optimization of the e-procurement application providing design to cost high performance, limit design risk and allow continuous optimum cost avoidance
- Owning of the category KPI in close governance with the cross function (procurement, planning and quality)
- Collaborating with R&D and strategic suppliers to define continuous improvement plan for the solution/product portfolio and deliver optimum performances in cost reductions, quality and sustainability
- Ensuring periodic proposal of business case and guaranty the necessary resources allocation
- Supporting the project team in new product development and introduction, from Gate 0 (Early involvement) to Gate 5 (launch), securing project´s objectives are met (Quality, Delivery, Time, Innovation, Material Compliance and Sustainability)
- Empowering, guiding and developing cross-function team in delivering outstanding performance. Directing supervision of a small team (2-3 global category leaders)
Your background
- 5 to 10 years of work experience within supply chain, preferably procurement of mechanical components with proven records of category management/SCM procurement outstanding achievement
- Knowledge on SCM support strategy definition, Supplier development, Stakeholder management and Legal agreement definition
- Sound knowledge of Office suite applications
- A degree in Engineering/Business master’s degree
- Strong leadership with team management and cross functions
- Excellent presentation and communication skill. Fluency in English both written and spoken
- Can work under pressure and expect (in non-pandemic times) frequent travel is required
