As a Global Category Leader - Casting and Machining, you will be responsible for Scouting supply market, identifying new suppliers and supply base rationalization, for Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area in Shanghai, China.

Reporting to the Category Manager, you will negotiate agreements/terms/conditions with the suppliers and keeping regular management of prices as well as other supplier matters.

Your responsibilities

• Scouting supply market, identifying new suppliers and supply base rationalization
• Negotiating agreements/terms/conditions with the suppliers and keeping regular management of prices as well as other supplier matters
• Business case development for sourcing decision and business allocation based on supply market insights
• Supporting and leading category team members including material planner, supplier development engineer, supplier quality engineer to manage suppliers’ performance (on time delivery, quality, cost) and drive continues improvements
• Ensuring cost model development for the assigned commodity, based on the deep understanding of the product manufacturing process, major cost drivers and the market situation
• Driving cost reduction initiatives to meet budget requirements

Your background

• 5 years+ work experience within supply chain, major in Mechanical fields or Supply Chain Management is preferred
• Experience in a large manufacturing or global organization
• Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills (internal ABB and external with suppliers)
• In depth understanding of supply management practices, advanced Excel user and basic knowledge of casting/machining
• Must be a team player, be able to work in a global environment with different cultures (internal ABB and external with suppliers from different countries)
• Good learning capability, to learn new knowledge during the work
• Fluency in English and Mandarin
