MAIN PORPOUSE OF THE POSITION
- The Project Manager is responsible for delivering IT projects in schedule, budget and quality. The role requires mastery of the technical knowledge of project management inter-related process stages i.e. initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control and close, and the supporting processes e.g. scope, cost, time, issue, risk, resource, communication, stakeholder management. Proficiency in related processes such as portfolio management, program management, methods and tools and quality assurance is also required . A Project Manager must have excellent stakeholder relationship management skills to successfully lead and manage the project team and project stakeholders, and have expertise recognized and requested by customers.
- In this role it’s required the ability to balance both the "science" of how to perform project management and the "art" of project management, which is learned through experience and skill training/application
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Successfully execute the project to agreed schedule, budget and scope. - • Perform the relevant Project Management Processes
- Plan the project based on a defined need - results in detailed scope/budget/schedule baseline - • Monitor and control the work to ensure that the project remains on track and in control
- Plan for and manage change - • Close the project to formalize acceptance of the project result and release project resources
- Manage project work and resources to enable successful and timely completion of the project - • Performs gate reviews and quality assurance reviews with all aspects of IT organization and business sponsors
- Perform weekly status reporting to all levels of management and reporting on variances to the approved project baseline - • Work within defined governance processes
- Manage external contracts and suppliers where required - • Lead the development of the project charter and scope
- Proactively identify risks and issues on projects - • Develop and manage plans to address project strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
- Analytical skills and problem solving skills needed to manage multiple factors on a project simultaneously - • A project Manager is expected to act independently, self-driven and motivated
- The project manager leads project teams consisting of cross functional global and virtual groups; directly supervises staff; assigns responsibility to members; monitors progress
DECISION MAKING RESPONSABILITIES

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Experience of managing IT projects with personal accountability for delivering to time and cost for large, complex projects typically from $100,000 up to $5m in value and 6 to 18 months in duration - • Mastery of project management methodology, tools and templates
- Track record of customer focus, based on openness, trust, and delivering on promises - • Experience in delivery that includes the use of supplier and off-shore resources, is preferred
- Experienced in managing to contract; ensuring clients and suppliers alike perform in accordance with original agreement, is preferred - • Experience across packaged and bespoke systems and infrastructure, ideally on an international basis, is preferred
- IT background with experience across the systems development life cycle, is preferred - • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (includes negotiation)
- Extensive experience in supporting global programs with project management of vendor migration activities. - • A degree in Computer Science, or in Management of Information Systems, or equivalents is preferred
- 10+ years in a corporate IT environment - • 5+ years’ experience in Project Management
- Other relevant experience in a related technical field (application development, deployment/implementation and infrastructure) - • Work experience in a professional services industry, preferred
- A relevant Project Management qualification (e.g., PgMP) is preferred - • Familiarity with ITIL v2 or 3 would be advantageous
- Excellent and fluid written and verbal English language is required - • Demonstrates high ethics and values - Inspires loyalty and trust, handles oneself ethically following core values and beliefs
