Front End Web UI Developer

Wakefield, MA

Role:

We are looking for a talented and motivated web UI developer who will work as part of a distributed agile team to implement compelling UIs with modern web UI technologies for the SDL Contenta Publishing suite. You will work as part of a distributed agile team and as part of RWS's global DevOps organization. Our Contenta Publishing Suite is deployed by some of the largest corporations and military agencies across the world! It is used for the creation, management, publishing and delivery of technical information to support everything from the most recent and advanced aircraft and ships to other complex assets. We are in the process of developing the next generation of capabilities for our global customers to take advantage of emerging concepts such as predictive maintenance, AR/VR, Machine Learning, guided assistants and other advanced technologies.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5+ years of experience in web UI development for web applications with React, HTML5, and JavaScript
  • Experience with a variety of UI development technologies and frameworks - HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, Ajax, XLST, jQuery with page speed optimization
  • Experience with creating, maintaining, and advocating for the use of style guides throughout a web application
  • Knowledge of and experience in responsive web design and web accessibility practices
  • Understanding and demonstrated adaptation of cross-platform, cross-browser compatibility concerns
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and debugging code using browser
  • Experience, understanding, and enthusiasm for UI/UX
  • Experience with modern web server architectures and technologies – Java and Java frameworks (Spring), REST/web services, Tomcat, IIS, Apache Web Server
  • Experience with Git flow, branch strategies, and code reviews
  • Experience in all phases of the software development process as a member of a Scrum team
  • Team-player with strong interpersonal skills comfortable working as part of distributed team
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a related discipline

 


As a plus  

  • Knowledge of XML, XSL & related technologies (DOM, StAX, SAX, XPath etc.)
  • Experience with S1000D, DITA
  • Experience with service-oriented architectures
  • Experience in CI tools i.e. Jenkins, Maven, SonarQube
  • Experience with cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence and agile development environments
