Food & Beverage Manager

This role reports directly to the General Manager of our 114 room 5 star hotel. The successful applicant will be responsible for the management of the Food and Beverage departments which include our 75 seat restaurant ‘Forage Kitchen + Bar’, our 6 conference spaces, and room service. Our newly rebranded hotel is the newest luxury destination in NZ’s capital and caters for a wide variety of clientele including business, leisure and groups.
The successful applicant will have effective communication, be highly organised and able to work autonomously and be a ‘Guest Obsessed’ leader.
Experience in a similar position within a hotel environment that has a conferencing component is a must.

What you will be doing:
- Lead, mentor and train the Food & Beverage Operations team
- Ensure Food & Beverage relevant brand standards are maintained
- Strategize on new products and service offerings
- Create unforgettable experiences for our guests
- Ensure full guest satisfaction at all time across all departments and outlets
- Develop customer loyalty and recognition, increasing average check
- Oversee and direct the Food & Beverage department with a creative eye
- Participate in menu planning and pricing with the Executive Chef ensuring maximizing revenue
- An eye for detail ensuring luxury elements practiced and in place
- Initiate projects, promotions to innovate and drive the FB department & its products and services
- Hands on management with good eye for detail
- Selecting the right Heartist’s (Staff) for F&B, monitor and control Manning
- Ensure excellent and efficient communication within the team as well as with other departments
- Report directly to the General manager
Your experience and skills include:
- Service focused personality is essential and previous leadership experience required
- Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders
- Communicate thoughts, actions and opportunities clearly with strong networking skills
- Ability to lead by example, believe in a strong team culture and set the scene for high performance
- Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role, in a luxury 5 star hotel.
- Proven experience in meeting budgeted and forecasted costs for payroll/wage costs and department costs.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing a team
- An understanding of luxury guest expectations and desire to meet the expectations.
