Job Purpose:
- Effectively collaborate to manage site laboratory systems, flavor test methods, and global flavor testing and flavor specifications for Mars Wrigley (MW).
- Manage various quality and food safety programs for the MW Northwestern Flavors (NFI) site in West Chicago to ensure ongoing FDA, Mars standards and FSSC22000 compliance.
What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Food Science or related technical field
- 3+ years relevant experience in Analytical/Sensory Laboratory environment
- Laboratory methodology capabilities including Gas Chromatography and Gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree
- 5+ years relevant experience in Analytical/Sensory Laboratory environment
- Previous food related experience
- 2+ years relevant experience in Quality and Food Safety systems in a Food/Flavor manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage various quality and food safety management systems in compliance to FSSC22000, FSMA, Mars Laboratory Quality Standard and MARS Quality Management Procedure standards.
- Effectively manage flavor testing data and specifications in the laboratory database, specification system and SAP systems utilized for flavor testing and specifications.
- Effectively assist in managing daily laboratory testing and laboratory operations.
- Manage daily quality control functions for Northwestern Flavor operations.
- Support managing various MW R&D Strategy Deployments at the Northwestern Flavors site and Laboratory.
- Collaborate with other MW Business unit functions on projects and activities including operations, commercial, R&D, health and safety, and supplier quality assurance.
