Purpose of the position：

Financial Controller is the head of finance in the area responsible for all finance, accounting and tax related matters; responsible for the financial result of the area together with the Area Management; monitors and manages the risks / exposures for all business units in the Area, drives value creation initiatives and ensures high quality and timely reporting for Group and statutory/legal reporting.

Key Tasks:

• Participation in the Business Plan development and definition of objectives short/mid term

• Proactive analysis of investment plans in the area

• Steer the short-term planning (annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting) process

• Analyze results, report findings to management and ensure/supervise implementation
  of action plans

• Ensure compliance to company policies

• Proactively drive the value creation program and value creating initiatives for the corresponding country/area

• Cash planning and management

• Foreign currency management in line with company standard

• Monthly reporting to China Finance as per reporting guideline

• Statutory reporting in accordance to local laws and requirements

• Co-operation with external and internal auditors and follow-up of their reports

• Proactively monitor the tax exposure and drive the reduction of the tax rate for the corresponding country/area

• Tax returns for income tax, capital tax and indirect taxes

• Establish local credit policies and ensures adherence

• Strict monitoring of accounts receivables and respective reporting to China Finance

• Proactively drive the improvement of DBO and overdue receivables as well as DPO

• Continuously monitor and control WIP in the area in accordance to policy

• Assure appropriate staffing and corresponding training

• Develop proposals to realize synergies and efficiency improvements on Area level

• Support area management in all finance related issues / projects

• Support area management in monitoring operational job accounting quality

• Special tasks as per area management or Corporate Head of Finance for respective area

• Keep control over fixed assets

• Disciplinary responsibility of Area Finance organization

• Process ownership

• Investments and credit limits up to locally defined levels

• Basic knowledge in freight forwarding and logistics

• Good understanding of processes and Shared Service Center concepts

• High controlling minded and with the drive to proactively challenge and improve the ‘status quo’ of Corporate Standards

Educational background / Work experience:

• University Degree and/or CPA

• Management experience of at least 5 years

• Deep understanding of financial and cost accounting

• Tax experience

Language skills

• Fluent in English (written and spoken) plus the local language
