Reporting to the Managing Director, the Finance Manager is responsible for monitoring the financial direction, policies, accounting practices according to IFRS and HGB in Germany, as well as conducting relationships with the AstraZeneca global and regional financial community. This individual should come prepared to maintain and improve finance systems and assure successful execution of control reports to mitigate risk, enhance accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, ensure compliance and maximize efficiency.
Typical Accountabilities:
Corporate Financial Accounting, Tax, Compliance & Reporting
Ensure and support successful execution of core financial processes & transactions (quality & time) in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS, Accounting Policies and Procedure from AstraZeneca Global
Maintain, identify new requirements based on business changes, and improve automated financial reporting and general ledger/ chart of accounts structure, including alignment with all AstraZeneca legal entities in Germany
Assure adherence to Finance Master Data Management processes and Data Governance
Perform selected activities including financial approvals and supervise reconciliation tasks
Support & review fiscal year end & taxation procedures, including yearend packages while liaising with consulting firms and Finance Shared Services
Ensure regulatory & other compliance requirements, monitor and develop financial control reports as part of the Enterprise Risk Assessment of AstraZeneca
Manage transfer pricing
Planning
Contribute to financial budget planning and forecast of Early Oncology under the lead of AstraZeneca R&D Finance and business unit
Corporate Legal & contract management
Support the organization for the handling of all pending legal issues, act as interface to Corporate Legal
Be responsible for Contract Management process including monitoring of supplier contracts ensuring compliance, risk assessment
Continuous Improvement
Participate in global finance & procurement transformation projects to create consistent, automated processes and implement new platforms
Essential requirements:
Master’s degree in Business, Finance or other higher business qualification
10+ years of experience in different positions in Finance paired with broad interdisciplinary process knowledge in multinational companies
Profound technical skills in systems and tools (e.g. Excel, SAP ERP)
Leadership skills, including the ability to solve problems that involve many decision makers, build relationships
Solid project management experience
Proven collaboration, facilitation, conflict management and influencing skills
Experience in corporate law and all types of contractual agreements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German
Ability to act and operate independently
A high level of cultural sensitivity
