Our location in Lake County, IL currently has an opportunity for a Finance Director, Global Commercial Operations within our Diagnostics division.  

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Finance Director, Global Commercial Operations is responsible for reporting the monthly financial results and forecasts for the Core Diagnostics Commercial businesses (Immunoassay, Clinical Chemistry and Hematology). This position reports into the Divisional Vice President & Controller, Global Commercial Operations.

Global Commercial Operations Finance must provide financial counsel and support to the Area Vice President and other Area senior staff members. Financial counsel and support are provided via the following specific activities: financial planning & analysis, financial reporting & analysis, general accounting, and internal control. Commercial Operations Finance also provides key financial data/information to the Division President and the Division Staff members. The incumbent's primary function is to execute the full range of controllership responsibilities for Global Commercial Operations, while 1) ensuring timeliness, accuracy and integrity of all financial information and 2) providing for compliance with Corporate and Division financial policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and lead the Global commercial operation financial planning and actual reporting for Diagnostics Division.

• Maintain an effective system of internal financial controls. Responsible for assuring that Division and Corporate accounting and financial policies, procedures and practices are adhered to during the course of operations

• Coordinate and present accurate and timely fact-based analysis supporting management’s decisions. Synchronize the financial information flow into clear and concise value-added analysis

• Develop and submit well-prepared and supported financial plans, business cases, and other strategic projects.

• Effectively manages communication with and understand cultural differences of the affiliates to ensure alignment with Division and Corporate expectations

• Build a strong finance team at Global Commercial Operation. Ensure people talent is aligned with actual and future needs.

•  Work with Diagnostics finance organizations around the world to ensure alignment of financial plan and strategies

• Responsible for leading a team of 4 finance professionals and supporting $4.5B USD Diagnostics business.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING:

Required

• B.A./B.S. in Accounting or Finance MBA, CPA and/or CMA desirable.  

• 10-12 years of diverse financial experience, including financial planning, reporting and analysis, general accounting, cost accounting and internal control.

Preferred  

• Microsoft Office package experience as well as relevant Transactional and Planning systems knowledge (Symphony / HFM / TM1) strongly desired.

• Must have strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills and the ability to interact with various levels of leadership.

• Knowledge of Core Diagnostics, preferred but not required.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks, work in a dynamic environment and meet deadlines.

• Have worked effectively with all levels of management; ability to influence without authority.

• Ability to apply professional concepts and company policies and procedures to solve routine problems and exercise independent decision making.
