We are recruiting for a newly created position within our Corporate Centre Finance department.

The purpose of the Finance Business Partner/ Management Accountant is to provide a financial support service for the Corporate Centre cost centres and the allocated global functions (HR, Finance, Marketing, Legal, Property & Facilities).

Key focus on: producing and developing accurate and timely monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and back-up and support to the Financial Controller and team.

The role requires providing business partner support to colleagues at all levels, but most notably the relevant Directors of the Group (CEO, FD, Group Legal Counsel, Group Assurance Director, Group Commercial Director, CIO, Group Marketing Director, Group Medical Devices Director, Group Professional Services Director), the allocated corporate cost centre owners, liaison with the wider Global finance teams, including the Shared Service Centre and regional FD’s.

We are paying a Circ. of £55,000 pa with a 10% Bonus

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • To assist in the preparation of consolidated monthly business unit results to enable the Executive Directors to take appropriate action and make business decisions.
  • To process non- recurring accruals, intercompany recharges, and investigate any major variances.
  • To assist in the development and implementation of systems and procedures to establish and enhance control, management information and efficiency for Corporate Centre. To work closely with FSSC (Financial Accounts (FA) & Accounts Payable (AP) & Intercompany) to manage the accuracy and completeness of costs affecting allocated cost centres, and ensure they are well- equipped to process on behalf of Corporate Centre.
  • Provide and update FA with recurring journals after budgeting and forecasting cycles (plus any ad hoc changes during the year) and provide support.
  • Provide financial insight, analysis and control to the allocated Corporate Centre managers and global functional managers (IT, Legal & Facilities, Program & Change, Social Responsibility, Group Marketing, Group Finance, Group HR) to enable them to manage their Corporate Centre and global budgets effectively and give advice as required.
  • Engage with regional finance teams to be able to give functional managers the data to manage their costs globally and resolve queries.
  • Provide commentary of major variances to Financial Controller and Head of Finance
  • Finance Business Partner the Corporate Centre Managers through Budget and Forecast preparation and review meetings
  • Prepare Budgets and forecasts for Corporate Centre in line with Group timetable
  • Business partner for the Global functional managers through Budget and Forecast preparation and review meetings
  • Ownership of Capex depreciation for Corporate Centre and globally on Corporate Centre projects in line with budget and forecast cycles, and management of actual variances. Work closely with project accountant.
  • Produce global recharges for IT, HR, Marketing, Insurance as appropriate.
  • Assist in planning and implementation of Finance Transformation projects.
  • Point of contact for global functional queries for relevant functions for actuals, budget and forecasts, and manage which costs are being held in which region to give clear oversight.
  • Build close relationships with Corporate Centre Managers and global functional managers, to be aware of issues and impacts to the Actual/Forecast/Budget results as early as possible, ensuring accuracy therein. Tailor the group reporting to fit their requirements.
  • Attend group SLT functional meetings and be the finance contact for the allotted functions.
  • To conduct ad hoc projects as agreed with the Financial Controller.
  • First point of contact for Basware queries within Corporate Centre
  • Assist in external audit for Corporate Centre, providing ad-hoc information as necessary.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Management / financial Accounting experience
  • Senior stakeholder management

Skills and Abilities

  • Good communication and building relationships with Stakeholders
  • Accuracy
  • Experience of SAP (or equivalent ERP system)
  • Strong excel and other Microsoft package ability

Qualifications

  • Qual ACCA/ CIMA or equivalent
