College of Liberal Arts at WKU is seeking vibrant candidates to teach Spanish language courses at the basic and intermediate levels. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment and evidence of excellence in Spanish language teaching and Latino cultural studies. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English is required. Ability to implement communicative methods and employ ACTFL standards in assessment and curriculum design and to employ innovative technologies, global and digital competencies and 21st century skills are also desirable. In addition to teaching and research, faculty are expected to contribute to the growth of the programs, including, but not limited to: curriculum development, program assessment, student recruitment/advisement, office hours, senior project supervision, internship opportunities, research experience for undergraduates.

A Lecturer is a full-time, 12-month employee who teaches 39 credits per year and provides student and learning support services during the assigned period. Lecturers will be expected to provide high quality teaching, student advisement and learning support services, and service to the university and/or professional community; and perform related work as required. Lecturer positions are non-tenure track and may be renewed on an annual basis.

Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. All faculty may be required to teach General Education courses as needed. Opportunities are also available to teach disciplinary support courses. Qualifications:
1) A Master's degree in Spanish or a closely related field is required for Lecturer positions.
2) A minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level and English fluency is required for all positions.

Annual salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience with the range from $45,000-$63,000 for lecturers. Salary of extraordinary candidates shall be determined on a case by case basis.
