Job Description:
Monitor the alerts from transaction monitoring and investigate the behavioral and transactional activities to detect the suspicions or unusual activities that linked to money laundering or terrorist financing. Assist to conduct the evaluation and validation testing of transaction monitoring scenarios as intended.
Understand of the up-to-date group policies, local laws and regulations as well as the best industry’s practices. Assist to conduct the gap analysis of AML instructions, procedures and sanctions requirements. Engage in the establishment and enhancement of local instructions, processes and customer due diligence forms.
Perform the case investigation reports of real-time AML hits that raised from different departments by using the instructions and methods of group standards and AML intelligence. Review the AML hit report for the blocked and unblocked customer transactions. Assist to maintain the black and white lists of sanction screening system according to the group policies and guidance.
Prepare the AML statistics reports in terms of customers, products, transaction monitoring and suspicious activities in accordance with the instructions, to assist the regular group reports and local AML regulatory reports as well as business-wide risk assessment.
Involve and coordinate the developments or enhancements of AML related systems & user testing in terms of KYC, transaction monitoring, sanction screening and local regulatory reports etc.
Perform the quality checking on the KYC profiles, customer transactions and local regulatory reports. Make sure that the implementations meet the quality assurance standards and that the relevant risks have been identified and properly controlled. Engage into formulating and coordinating of action plans and governance schedules, and follow up the controlling measures and remediation plans for the issues/risks identified or raised from different channels to be carried out in place.
Control over the customer due diligence profiles, outdated customer identification documentations, customer risk rating, ongoing due diligence and enhanced due diligence and communicate with Corporate Banking department to ensure timely completion by providing the guidance and supervisory in support of AML policies and procedures.
Participant in the regular Financial Crime prevention discussions/presentations with head office and group/local training courses. Interact with other departments, correspondent banking due diligence, and vendors on AML & KYC-related issues.
Handle the internal/external inquires and questionnaires, and assist with department head to support in the AML matters, and other related ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree, major in Finance or Law related disciplines.
Fluency in both oral and written English
Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in banking, preferably in areas of KYC, AML and sanction compliance,
Experience in handling customer transactions, customer service support, or risk management would be a plus.
Good knowledge of banking related laws and regulations.
Good communication skills and ability to build up relationships.
Good analytical and problem solving skills, self-motivated and good teamwork.
8. Good use of computer applications, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
