In this role, you will:

This role is accountable for ensuring adequate controls are in place to manage financial crime risk,providing subject matter expertise for the purpose of setting policy, providing guidance and advising the businesses and functions on managing financial crime risk. Financial Crime Compliance Operations Manager ensures HSBC's compliance to both global and local laws, rules and regulations relating to financial crimes. Role holder will carry out activities including:

• Directly influence the operational effectiveness of the functional/functional unit

- Co-ordinate and manage projects; typically working on large, moderately complex projects/assignments- Management responsibility for a team, including people, objective setting and performance

• Support decisions through advice, counsel or services in area of specialisation
• Accountable for delivery against prescribed targets, budgets and resourcing and responsible for volume, quality, and timeliness of end results
• Act as initial point of escalation for team members
• Adhere to and actively support established policies and procedures in own team
• Support change initiatives and embed change initiatives within own team

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
• 5-8 years proven and progressive financial services operations, compliance or legal experience or equivalent.
• Proven managerial, communications, analytical, organizational, and planning skills, including strong writing skills.
• Strong knowledge of pertinent regulations affecting insurance businesses.
• Knowledge of HSBC's operational, back office and head office areas would be an asset.
• Knowledge of due diligence standards respecting Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Client requirements
• Proven ability to accomplish high-level objectives in the context of annual business and compliance plans

• Ability to lead change, contributing to joining up with the other teams in Risk and Business globally.
