THE JOB
Reporting to the Associate Director (Estate Office), the Facility Manager is responsible for effective planning and managing the full spectrum of facility management activities to ensure the effective functioning of the facilities at the Fo Tan Main Campus spanning 11.6 hectares and the off-site training venues (Whitehead Cycling Velodrome and Sea School at Stanley); to provide a safe, hygienic and efficient training and working environment for athletes and employees by deploying the best business practices to manage resources, services and processes to meet the needs of the company. Duties include:
l Manage a diversified training and other facilities with operational effectiveness to meet the needs of the company. The facilities include Bowling Centre, Badminton Hall, Fencing Hall, Wushu Hall, Squash Courts, Billiard Hall, Table Tennis Hall, Tennis Courts, Grass in-field & Athletic Tracks, Swimming Complex, Rowing Centre, Athlete Hostel, Sports Residence, 400-seater Theatre, offices, meeting rooms, activity rooms, a 4-storey car parking and an extensive landscape area.
l Provide efficient central services such as cleaning, security, lifeguard services, waste disposal, pest control, horticultural services for the landscape, etc. for a safe, hygienic and efficient operating environment at Fo Tan and the off-site training venues.
l Ensure the proper and appropriate use of all venues by users complying with the company’s polices, rules and regulations.
l Under the ambit of facility management, to select and manage contract suppliers and contractors, monitor their performance and review service contracts to ensure facility management needs are met with cost effectiveness.
l Supervise and lead a department of 60 staff members effectively.
l Collaborate effectively with users of the facilities in respect of planning and using of the HKSI facilities and provide logistic support for events.
l Closely liaise with the Maintenance Manager to ensure the Fo Tan Campus and off-site training venues are in proper conditions to meet the users’ needs.
l Carry out the necessary safety procedures and building health and safety inspections to ensure that the facilities comply with the prevailing building regulations and best practice.
l Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director (Estate Office).
THE REQUIREMENTS
l A university degree in Facility/ Estate Management or equivalent;
l At least 10 years’ relevant experience in facility/ estate management;
l Excellent staff management and team leadership skills;
l Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills in dealing with both internal and external users/customers;
l Detail-oriented, strong sense of responsibility and able to work under pressure;
l Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese; ability to speak Putonghua is a definite advantage; and
l Proficiency in computer software applications including MS-Word, Excel and Chinese Word Processing.
