As an External Reference Job you will be responsible for complying with the local regulations on customs, inspection & quarantine and other regulatory bodies; and with the full regard to ABB’s principles of zero tolerance of bribery and other unethical practices, effectively manage the Customs operation, in Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area in Shanghai, China.

Reporting to the Customer Support Manager, you will ensure the import and export activities to be compliant with the applicable laws/regulations to support the biz development & value chain for LBLs/Platforms.

Your responsibilities

• Upholding the highest standard of trade compliance and integrity for securing the high rating the company has at the customs authority
• Ensuring daily Customs operation of import and export inclusive of customs documentation preparation, declaration, etc. and completing the TCP maintenance in accordance with the CA Logistics requests
• Serving as a vehicle to communicate between CA Logistics team and biz team to ensure the imported/exported items to be accurately classified
• Working closely with the internal stakeholders and offer effective solution/answer to challenges arising from the import & export of goods in accordance with the biz development
• Staying alert for the changes of local regulations and business models, identifying the potential risk and accordingly, taking pro-active measures

Your background

• 1 to 2 year working experience in the logistics function with good trade compliance record
• Sound knowledge as well as bonded warehouse operation experience is an advantage
• Good knowledge of local customs and CIQ regulations
• Good inter-personal skills and able to communicate effectively in English
• Good command of PC skills and Customs System knowledge is a plus
• A College degree or higher in logistics, international trade or similar subject
