We are currently seeking an External Affairs Manager. The main purpose of the job is to develop and execute all external policy engagement and strategy plans as well as PR and communication plans.

We are looking for a profile that, both has a strategic in mindset and is execution focused in external engagement. You have a solid understanding of how the external environment is impacting a global company doing business in Denmark. You are aware of how decisions are being made and can navigate and handle the external factors that are driving change in the healthcare and business environment. You have a solid pen and can formulate formal policy briefs as well as write to get a point across in the public. We would like to meet a winning personality that loves the external engagement and can and can drive change in the external environment.

The position is based in our office in Hellerup. The External Affairs Manager reports to the Value, Access & Policy Lead with a dotted line to the Country Director.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead Danish policy strategy and develop Amgen Denmark’s long-term policy vision
• Development of Amgen Denmark’s corporate reputation through an External Affairs strategy
• Engage relevant policy stakeholders, patient advocacy organizations and policy champions in the Danish health environment.
• Incorporate relevant Amgen Global/EU strategies into the Danish External Affairs strategy.
• Collaborate with VA&P Lead to ensure the policy strategy supports the access and reimbursement plans for Amgen products and ensure advocacy strategies are included in Access/Brand plans
• Ensures the organization is aware of relevant policies under discussion including emerging policy issues that would present a threat or an opportunity to Amgen’s short and long term’s objectives
• Ensures that Amgen Denmark is maximizing the policy platforms that it is a member of.
• Active member of relevant committees

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree & 4 years of government affairs/policy related experience
  OR Bachelor’s degree & 6 years of government affairs/policy related experience
• Experience in representing corporate interests at local trade associations, driving key policy positions of responsibility and building coalitions as needed
• Strong oral and written communications skills Danish and English

COMPETENCES:

• Previous experience in government/public affairs in the pharma industry; and/or experience in local government or parliament; and/or experience in public affairs consultancy with pharma clients; and/or experience in local trade association
• Able to work effectively with patient groups to build trust and support by identifying mutual interests and agendas.
• Proven track-record in engaging and mobilizing patient advocacy groups to take appropriate action in support of specific issues, such as access, and to support Amgen and the biopharmaceutical industry overall.
• Skilled at advocacy, influence and persuasion: able to convince others to act on information or recommendations based on compelling logic or common best interests
• Possesses unquestionable integrity and a sense of confidence, balanced with humility and sense of humor.
