Executive Officer I / II, Career Management Centre

The CUHK Business School is a leading business school and a pioneer in business education in Hong Kong. Since its establishment in Hong Kong in 1963, the CUHK Business School has gained world recognition of nurturing business leaders with immense contributions in Asia Pacific. The School has been offering a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (MBA, MSc, MAcc, EMBA, MPhil, PhD) with over 4,600 students, as well as executive education. It has one of the most extensive alumni networks in the region, with over 35,000 alumni around the world.

The Career Management Centre of the School is a specialised team to develop and deliver comprehensive career opportunities and development programmes, with the goal of supporting graduate students in attaining their career goals and achieving high student employment metrics.

Reporting to the Administrative Director (Graduate Career Management) or her designate, the appointee will closely collaborate with co-workers to build and nurture connections with corporate partners, professional organisations and recruiters to support students in their career management and job search journey, to achieving high student employment metrics. Duties include (a) promoting the School’s MBA and Masters students to recruiters and professional organisations; (b) developing placement networks and opportunities in the region, especially mainland China, for graduate students and recent graduates; (c) planning, marketing and communicating recruitment and enrichment activities / events to all stakeholders and measuring outcomes; (d) providing job search support and career management guidance to a diverse student body; and (e) managing key projects, such as student / graduate surveys, activities / events scheduling.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s degree; (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website: https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo; (iii) at least 8 years’ post-qualification executive and professional experience with knowledge of career management / coaching; (iv) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including fluency in Putonghua); (v) excellent organisational, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; and (vi) self-motivation, and the ability to work collaboratively as a team member and independently to meet tight deadlines. Track record in corporate relations, China relations and business development will be advantageous. Working at flexible hours and travelling will be required. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test in both English and Chinese. Applicants with less work experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Officer II.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
