AccorHotels are seeking motivated, highly organised and passionate Executive Housekeeper - Full-Time to join our Team at Peppers Beacon Queenstown.

The Executive Housekeeper is a senior position that forms part of the core Management team at Peppers Beacon and is an essential role at the heart of any hotel. It requires a strong sense of leadership and interpersonal skills, an engaging and motivating personality that can engage and drive a team, along with excellent attention to detail and impeccable organisational skills – all of which will be demonstrated within a world leading Hotel Company - AccorHotels.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing a critical and very important team within the hotel. It requires a highly motivated leader who is able to successfully communicate to a wide and diverse audience and get the best out of each individual. They must also work cohesively with other Hotel Departments to ensure a smooth Housekeeping operation and the constant delivery of exceptional standards in order to provide the highest possible guest experience at every opportunity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and maintains the Housekeeping department in its entirety of organization and operation; including but not limited to: exceptional level of presentation, workforce, productivity, payroll, rosters, stock, suppliers, supplier relations and Housekeeping team development, both individually team members and as a department
  • Responsible for the recruitment of team members, in conjunction with General Manager and the delivery of Peppers Beacon and AccorHotels training programs in line with workforce and budgetary requirements
  • Demonstrates a superior leadership presence for team members, colleagues, guests and suppliers
  • Ensure the smooth daily operation of the Housekeeping department at all times
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with our suppliers ensuring that the standards within Peppers Beacon are held in the highest regard
  • Through excellent attention to detail achieve high standards of cleanliness, by working closely with our internal team including Managers and other Supervisors
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and the Front Office departments to deliver the most optimum performance and results
  • Manage and report on stock control and inventory including sourcing new products, suppliers and keeping with up with latest trends and initiatives
  • Analyze monthly reports and review and action opportunities for improvement.
  • Demonstrates genuinely care about team members with the focus always on getting the best out of people to enable them to grow and develop
  • Ensure that all Team Members are actively engaged in AccorAcademy and remaining on top of their assigned courses, by making sure they are completed at the earliest convenience
  • Perform all aspects of Team Member development and performance management for the Housekeeping department
  • Actively promote and demonstrate a culture of health and safety at all times, with the focus on team member wellbeing. Ensure that all incidents are reported on using the correct channels in an efficient manner and acting appropriately to address and eliminate any unnecessary risks in the department and hotel
  • Actively participate in all scheduled meetings, courses and assignments as and when requested
  • Adhere to all Peppers Beacon and AccorHotels policies and procedure and remain up to date as things change from time to time

  • Proven experience and excellence as a superior Housekeeping leader, preferably within an environment that delivers five star quality and experiences
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with people at all levels, across all areas, including the housekeeping team, contractors, suppliers, guests and internal colleagues
  • A passion and devotion to provide an excellent great guest experience through exceptional standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with hotel computer systems in order to effectively manage the Housekeeping department on a daily basis
  • Possess highly developed people and mentoring skills, along with business management, including payroll, rostering, cost control and  overall efficiencies
