Main Purpose and Job Scope
This job contributes to Starbucks success by providing advanced support of a highly confidential and complex nature to senior executive by acting as a functional resource for the management office. Exercises independent judgment and discretion in making decisions. Plans, implements and directs multiple concurrent activities that support company and business unit/department programs, processes and objectives. Communicates with both internal and external customers, including high level executives. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
Key Accountabilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide verbal and written translation for vice-president during individual meetings, group meetings, with internal partners and external clients and at public speeches.
- Understands Starbucks Coffee operations and business.
- Develops effective working relationships with internal and external partners. Provides information or guidance by interpreting policy and process. Advises partners in the use of the business unit or department's products and services. Develops action plans that respond to customer issues and concerns. Handles highly confidential and nonroutine information. Identifies and establishes external information sources through personal contacts, industry meetings, and developing working relationships with business firms and key customers.

- Manages special projects and other related duties as requested.
- Organizes and prioritizes large volumes of information and calls.
- Provides administrative support to executive vice president or above. Composes, types, signs and releases correspondence and memos. Creates various charts, tables, graphs and presentation material. Edits copy for spelling, grammar and layout. Prioritizes incoming mail.
- Responds to phone calls and complex requests for information. Screens, responds to, or directs incoming calls for manager.
- Schedules meetings for manager. Organizes and schedules large and complex activities such as cross-functional meetings, business travel, conferences, and department activities. Acts as host and facilitator at meetings. Develops meeting agendas, takes and distributes minutes. Tracks action items.
- Supports budget process by reviewing and auditing weekly and monthly purchase journals and budget documents. Coordinates budget and forecast requirements for business unit or consolidated department and provides research and analysis for variance reporting.
Requirements
Experience
- Project management - 4 years
- Fast-paced environment - 1 year
- Progressive administrative experience
- Use of general office procedures and equipment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Fluent English and Chinese verbal and written skills.
- Able to travel extensively within China through out work week Monday through Friday.
- Willing to work flexible hours, occasionally weekends.
- Organization and planning skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Attention to detail
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
- Ability to understand complex concepts and relationships and evaluate using solid analytical and problem-solving skills
