This position is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Primark Environmental Sustainability Programme in China or any other tasks assigned by the manager. Reporting to the Environmental Manager for Asia and collaborating with the Ethical Trade team in the Shanghai office.

Job Specification

• Supporting communications with Chinese suppliers
• Supporting implementation of environmental management standards and projects
• Administration of the Environmental Manager’s programme activities; data management, emails, calls, meetings and site visits
• Active support on the following programmes:

Supply Chain Mapping

• Collecting and mapping information on production supply chain

Primark DETOX Programme:

• Support suppliers in the achievement of DETOX KPI’s
• Reporting on supplier communications, site visits, audits and case studies

SAC – HIGG Index:

• Support completion of the HIGG Facilities Environmental Module by suppliers and factories
• Maintain and increase the connection with supply base on the HIGG platform.

IPE:

• Supporting on-going interaction of suppliers with IPE regarding violation records and data disclosure at PRTR platform
• Managing data and remediation actions for Suppliers as provided by Environmental Manager

Required Skills

• Excellent organisational and planning skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in English and Chinese languages
• Proficient in Microsoft office
• Ability to critically analyse suppliers responses and implement remediation plans
• Ability to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Experience in environmental and/or chemicals management
• Good base knowledge of global sustainability issues and trends and in-depth knowledge specifically of the Chinese market in relation to environmental sustainability
