In this role, the Enterprise Architect, Business Architecture, develops specific artifacts such as business capability maps, application portfolio health and lifecycle analytics to assist business and IT leaders with technology investment planning, and streamlining and rationalizing the IT enablement process. In addition to developing specific architecture deliverables and insights, the architect will be responsible for the advancement of Amgen’s architecture modeling practice, by working within the ServiceNow “Application Portfolio Management” solution to deliver the insights necessary effectively manage Amgen’s global technology ecosystem. The Enterprise Architect, Business Architecture, is a member of the Enterprise Architecture team in the Office of the CIO, and has the technical, communication and collaboration skills required to advance Amgen’s digital innovation goals.

Key Activities for Role include:

  • Service Owner of Amgen’s “Application Portfolio Management” practice to deliver enterprise architecture capabilities and insights
  • Applying a structured business architecture methodology for capturing and documenting inputs from key business and IT stakeholders
  • Documenting business functions, identifying customer-facing and supplier-related processes and systems, and roles, resources, and controls involved
  • Documenting and understanding the relationships among applications, roles, capabilities, and business units
  • Domestic travel up to 10% may be required in the future

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with ServiceNow platform, including the Common Services Delivery Model and IT Business Management suite (Application Portfolio Management, Project Portfolio Management, Demand Management, Resource Management)
  • Minimum 1 year working with agile delivery methodologies
  • Experience performing and documenting business processes redesign and aligning business requirements to technical solutions
  • Experience writing and publishing internal white/position papers, technical documentation, SOP’s, and architectural specifications.
  • Knowledge of ITIL Service Management framework and TOGAF Architecture framework
  • Ability to effectively communicate with leadership and with peers
  • Ability to self-start and effectively operate within a complex and dynamic environment

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree and 1 year of relevant IT experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant IT experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 4 years of relevant IT experience
