As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the design, engineering and application aspects of the SI business. He/she will work closely with the Operations Manager and Production Manager for effective execution of all new projects, in Process Automation Business Area in Shanghai, China.
Reporting to the General Manager-SIU, you will be responsible to manage all the technical risk mitigation/avoidance and continuity support throughout the project life cycle.
Your responsibilities
- Ensuring the engineering team develops the design and engineering in accordance to project specifications
- Being responsible to manage all the technical risk mitigation/avoidance and continuity support throughout the project life cycle
- Implementing and educating his team members to use SIU’s standard engineering tools and processes for all projects
- Being responsible to work closely with Engineering Lead Engineers to ensure engineering phase is maintained/improve as required by project schedule
- Providing technical advice to the engineering team in the areas of hazardous area classification, system design concept
- Making reports to the GM on engineering productivity, work closely with the Operations Manager on project engineering hour allocation and implementation of our 3-D modeling concept
- Meeting customers during FAT and may from time to time travel with Global Sales Manager to make presentation to potential and new customers
- Working closely with the Global Sales Manager to
- provide technical supports and strategies to win projects for ABB
Your background
- Minimum 10 to 15 years working experience, preferably in the analytical business
- Good communication skills with ability to manage cultural diversity, working in MNC environment and willing to travel.
- A degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Process Engineering with knowledge of 3D modeling is essential
- Computer literacy and competency in Microsoft Office tools
- Good understanding in electrical hazardous equipment requirement and application knowledge of hazardous area classification
- Technical experience in the petrochemical, oil & gas industries is essential
- Understanding of analyzer application and analytical system package use in the oil and gas industries will be an added advantage
