Responsibilities:
? Support technology development and new product development projects.
? Using sound engineering principles refine concepts into reliable designs that meet performance, compliance, product integrity and aesthetic requirements for worldwide markets.
? Design for manufacturability, for China production environments.
? Manage output of factory design teams by reviewing design progress and providing feedback
? Liaise with the wider global team departments, including quality, test, marketing, compliance etc.
? Attend global calls giving verbal updates
? Hold mentoring sessions with direct reports and support growth across the team
? Ensure adherence to development processes
? Review 3D work for prototyping and manage prototype build and provide guidance to reporting engineers

Experience:
? At least 9 years’ experience in product development in high volume consumer products. Mobile Robotic products preferred.
? 3D CAD proficiency, design experience in multiple processes such as: plastic injection molding, die-casting, sheet metal, machining processes, and assembly processes. Prototype development and testing.
? Experience working effectively in a cross-functional team environment is essential.
? Design processes, including DFME, FEA, DFM etc

? A broad view and understanding of the product development process, and effective experience leading multi-disciplined team efforts to solve issues by identifying root cause and corrective actions through analysis and testing.
? Strong leadership qualities, collaborative work ethic and “Make it Happen” type attitude
? Willingness to challenge others and can accept being challenged
? Proven ability to implement design changes and pushing technology limits while balancing feasibility criteria such as manufacturability, cost, technology risk, implementation schedule
? Very good command of English speaking and writing
? Ability to work with flexible adaptable teams and processes that embrace change and uncertainty
? Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
? Detail-oriented, versatile, organized, articulate and professional.
? Able to challenge team members on all aspects of design direction.
? Ability to work under pressure and work overtime if required at peak project times.

Education/Certifications/Affiliations
? BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or Mechatronics
? High Skill level and knowledge of Pro Engineer Creo preferred
? Product management certification a plus
