Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, ENGINEER STERILE DISPOSABLES,  are to: 

 

  • Support design, development, and implementation of new sterile disposable product designs utilized in radiology and cardiovascular medical procedures;
  • Use CAE tools (CAD, FEA, Moldflow, CFD) to develop and analyze product designs;
  • Conduct or direct testing in a R&D lab environment to verify concept product designs;
  • Research and develop new technologies associated with sterile medical disposable products;
  • Provide knowledge of plastic materials, standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.) and manufacturing processes;
  • Establish detailed product requirements / design inputs;
  • Support the creation and formal review of product drawings / output within a cross-functional team environment;
  • Support verification / validation testing of production intent products using novel product designs;
  • Apply acquired knowledge of the product and clinical applications as required throughout the organization;
  • Create various design history file documentation throughout the product development process including technical assessments, test protocols / reports, and various engineering documentation.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in plastics or mechanical engineering’
  • General understanding of (medical device) product designs and development;
  • 0 - 3 years of industry experience directly pertaining to mechanical / plastic engineering roles;
  • Working knowledge of plastics processing (including injection molding, extrusion, etc…);
  • Strong competency in the use of lab equipment including Universal Test Machines (Instron), melt flow tester, and data logging devices;
  • Proven awareness of other technical disciplines and ability to work in a tech. team environment;
  • Working knowledge and proven skills of PC computer operating system including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
