Prototyping these devices involves a close partnership between hardware and software engineers, designers, and manufacturing. We are currently building the next generation and WDG needs you!

Role & Opportunity:
We are looking for a Sr. Electrical Engineer to design embedded systems and associated electrical system design who will design prototypes next generation hardware products. A strong mix of technical breadth and depth will allow you to work cross-functionally with different disciplines (Industrial Design, Mechanical, Electrical, Thermal, Software and Firmware) to develop compelling innovative products. You will be part of a multidisciplinary group that will design and build circuits and systems, select key strategic components work with a motivated global team to develop rapid working prototypes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop digital and analog systems with an emphasis on displays, high speed interconnect standards, cameras, DC/DC power supplies, and batteries.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering, firmware, hardware, and many other engineering and design disciplines to develop working prototypes the overall system of the product.
• Design, build, and test complete electrical prototypes for evaluation of new product ideas or technology concepts. Develop schematics, select all critical components, drive PCB Layout, mange PCB fab and assembly, and drive board bring up for final prototype.
• Develop project documentation including specifications, schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, schedules and presentations to meet requirements and communicate the electrical design and its progress.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field (Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Engineering)
• 3+ years of experience designing and building electronics products with a focus on consumer and portable systems.
• Hands-on design experience in analog/digital electronics and bring up: System-on-a-Chip processors, RF systems , analog interfaces, digital circuits, audio interfaces, video interfaces, on board power supplies, electromechanical, switching power supplies, flat panel displays and their interfaces, and sensors (discrete optical, cameras, IMU)
• Experience and familiarity with high speed serial interfaces (HDMI, PCIe, USB 2/3/C, DisplayPort, MIPI) and low speed serial busses (I2C, SPI, I2S)
• Experience in high speed digital design, SoC system design, design approaches to maximize signal integrity, PCB layout stack up and optimization, RF/EMI mitigation techniques, rechargeable battery selection and management, and power distribution techniques of modern processors desired.
• Strong problem solving and circuit debugging skills with a solid understanding of core engineering principles, fundamental circuit design, and analytical techniques is required.
Experience with Cadence Schematic Capture and PCB Layout tools preferred.
