The Center is hiring an Education Development Officer to work as part of the professional development team to support faculty members to design and develop courses that adopt experiential learning approaches, and courses that incorporate education technology and innovative active learning pedagogies. The appointee is expected to facilitate student learning both individually and in groups, and to familiarize and help to develop appropriate assessment tasks to evaluate students’ level of achievements in these courses. The appointee is also expected to co-teach the institutional-wide teaching training course for graduate teaching assistants, and to observe through the involvement in projects to identify opportunities for pedagogical development at the University and contribute to other duties related to the Center.
Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in education, educational technology or a related area with at least 3 years of post-degree teaching/instructional experience, preferably in higher education. They should have sound knowledge in creating active learning environments through innovative pedagogies and education technologies. Candidates with up-to-date knowledge of active learning pedagogies; technological savvy, experience with experiential learning in academic courses/programs; and a good understanding of assessment techniques in higher education will be an advantage. A high level of proficiency in both spoken and written English is essential. The appointee must be a dynamic learner with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, willing to take initiatives and able to concurrently manage multiple assignments. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
