General Description
The Education Content Manager reports to the GM Greater China of Sesame Workshop. The manager will work
closely with the broader Sesame China team, the strategic partners and advisors in the education sector to help
manage, develop and ensure the quality of the Workshop’s educational content and related materials.
The manager will also manage and support research, development and review of educational content created for
Sesame China’s production, community engagement, and social media, among others. In activities, the manager
will work to employ the Sesame Workshop Education Model.
Responsibilities
Educational Content
Lead the development and review of bilingual (English and Chinese) educational materials to support
Sesame Workshop production in China, including original productions, dubbing projects, location-based entertainment events, online and offline learning projects, and social impact programs. Specifically,
- Work with Sesame Workshop global education team to identify educational topics, content and projects that are applicable in China;
- ? Adapt and localize existing educational content, including but not limited to curriculum and curricular activities, ensuring the cultural appropriateness of all content;
- ? Lead on the development of educational objectives, related curriculum, guidelines and educational material kits for educators, parents, children of kindergartens, and other online and offline learning platforms in China;
- ? Support the development and implementation of educational activities for offline events that help build brand awareness and community engagement;
- ? Support the development and review of media materials, including but not limited to television, social media, print, products, to ensure educational integrity of all materials;
- ? Plan for seminars, workshops, meetings and trainings to help develop educational content for the projects, and work with colleagues and partners to ensure the smooth operation of these events;
- ? Manage the communication with advisory board, key partners in China and educational experts in headquarters;
- ? Represent Sesame Workshop China in the education space to be the ambassador of Whole-Child approach and other educational messages and help promote Sesame’s mission of helping kids grow smarter, stronger, and kinder.
Social Impact Projects
Support the design, development, and implementation of educational content of various social impact
projects
Administrative
- ? Oversee administrative aspects of educational development work, including supporting thedevelopment of contracts and logistical planning, as needed;
- ? Support the effective communication with vendors and other stakeholders, as needed, to ensure effective communication and exchange of ideas;
- ? Assist with other tasks as assigned by GM Greater China
Qualifications
? A master’s degree or higher in early childhood education, education, psychology, child development
or other relevant social sciences
? 3-5 years of working experience in the field of early childhood education preferred
? Experience in developing curriculum, lesson plans, resource materials for early childhood education,
teaching experience in kindergartens/schools a plus
? Bilingual, fluent in both English and Chinese
? Familiarity with Chinese young children in various communities in China
? Excellent professional communication and cross-cultural communication skills
? Being detail oriented, adaptive, flexible, and critical learner as a professional
? Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
? Being committed to equity and inclusion in education
