Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee shall mainly be responsible for the following:

  • copy-editing new and revised courses, official documents, press publications, web materials, multimedia materials, etc.;
  • overseeing the updating of existing courses (English and Chinese) with editorial input;
  • overseeing the uploading and proper presentation of learning components on the Online Learning Environment;
  • editing/proofreading online and multimedia materials;
  • undertaking English-Chinese (and vice versa) translation; and
  • editing/proofreading OUHK Press publications and project website(s).

 

Requirements
Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • a recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English/Chinese or a related discipline with at least 2 years’ relevant post-qualification experience;
  • a good command of Chinese and/or English; and
  • applicants with over 4 years’ post-qualification experience in publishing/academic publishing are preferred.

 

Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.

 

Compensation Package
Competitive compensation package including basic salary, end-of-contract gratuity and discretionary incentive (if any) will be offered to the right candidate. Fringe benefits such as generous annual leave, staff learning and development sponsorship, medical & dental benefits and life insurance coverage will also be provided.
