We currently have a career opportunity for a Staff in our EY Legal Function Consulting (LFC) practice. Our team works with clients to improve the performance of the legal function and add value to the overall organization. LFC serves high-profile, national and multinational clients across the globe. We have a large, national practice that is assembling into project teams working with clients on often full time, multi-month projects. Major areas where the group provides assistance include:
- Strategy and Operating Model – assist clients in identifying improvement opportunities and developing responsive legal service delivery operating models.
- Process Optimization – design effective and controlled legal-business processes to increase efficiency, reduce risk and drive business results.
- Technology and Innovation – assist the client to maximize the value firm existing technology investments and design new legal service technology platforms (e.g., Case Management, Matter Management/ eBilling, CLM, legal service workflow, Document Management, Document Automation, and Portals).
- Experience with commercially available legal technology applications– assist the client in evaluating, selecting and implementing technologies that will bring faster and more efficient processing (e.g., SharePoint, KIM, Onit, Team Connect).
- Apply knowledge of emerging technologies – assist the client with opportunities to leverage RPA, AI, Self Service workflows, etc. to drive efficiencies and overall cost reduction across the legal function.
Responsibilities
- Gather business requirements and prepar
edocumentation of processes, required functionality, implementation approach, and testing scenarios - Analyze functional requirements and business processes
- Implementing processes and/or systems per client requirements
- Interacting and communicating with clients as needed
- Provide project management support to team and client leads
- Manage client and internal team expectations through proactive communication and engagement.
To qualify, candidates must have:
- Bachelor's degree and approximately 1-2 years of related work experience; or master’s degree/JD and approximately 1-2 years of related work experience (preferred); Information Systems, Business, Analytics, Finance, Accounting or Legal Studies (undergraduate)/JD (graduate) fields of study preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and address client needs, develop client relationships and define resource requirements, project workflow.
- Experience within a corporate legal department is also valuable.
- Excellent organizational, project management, change management, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Relevant experience in one or more of the following: a) legal department operations and/or strategy; b) legal and compliance process design and controls; c) change management; d) legal and emerging technologies; and/or e) legal pricing, data and analytics.
- Travel ability: Approximately 60% (Typical travel schedule: Monday-Thursday). We work extensively at client locations. Client engagements may also be local or remote (no travel required). Out-of-town client engagements are only done in exceptional circumstances.
