Job Description
The Teacher is required to prepare and deliver lessons using EF branded content and in line with EF methodologies for classroom delivery and EF systems of learner management to ensure a high level of teaching quality and leaner satisfaction. They also have additional responsibilities which relate to the mentoring of other teachers within the school. These responsibilities can be found in the addendum role description section below.
Working Schedule
• 40 hours (over 5 days) per week during non-peak months arranged by the Director of Studies. This is represented by an average of 30 academic classroom hours (ACH)
o 1 ACH = 40 minutes of real time
o 130 ACH (87 real hours) per calendar month (4.33 weeks) or 20 real hours per week for 4.33 weeks
o It is possible to teach more than 30 ACH one week and less than 30 ACH another week, averaging out over the calendar month
• 40 hours (over 6 days) per week during peak months (June to August, January or February), arranged by the Director of Studies. This is represented by an average of 40 ACH
o 174 ACH (113 real hours) per calendar month (4.33 weeks) or 26 real hours per week for 4.33 weeks
o It is possible to teach more than 40ACH one week and less than 40 ACH another week, averaging out over the calendar month
• Any work carried out beyond the forty-hour working week is subject to overtime remuneration
• Onsite and offsite duties
• Teachers may be required to work morning and afternoon shifts in the same day
• Teachers can be assigned to any of the EF centres within the city but would generally be based in one centre

The role will report to the Director of Studies, or to a Senior Teacher upon assignment of the center Director of Studies
Job Description
• Carry out the timetable of classes assigned by the DoS
• Give lessons to the highest standards of English language teaching
• Become familiar with the courses of study at the centre
• Develop and use suitable supplementary materials as necessary
• Use audio / video materials in classes
• Expose students to the use of CALL, CD-ROMs, and the Internet
• Begin and end classes on time
• Prepare lessons and equipment in advance for all classes
• Become familiar with and implement the Efekta Course Management Procedures
• Administer, correct and record the results of progress reports, tests and assessments for students
• Substitute for absent colleagues, perhaps at short notice, on or off-site
• Be responsible for students’ welfare and progress
• Inform students of centre aims and objectives
• Cooperate with the CD and DoS/ST in ensuring the constructive communication and efficient operation of the centre
• Meet regularly with the DoS/ST to communicate all relevant information
• Assist the DoS/ST upon request with the development and marketing of courses and induction of sales and teaching staff into the practices of the centre
• Continually strive for self-development and attend regular developmental meetings with the DoS or ST
• Maintain student and class records
• Assist in the placement testing and interviewing of new students
• Carry out teaching related responsibilities including, but not limited to demonstration classes, Life Clubs, tutorials, seminars and presentations and attend centre social events
• Take on administrative work and but not limited to, cataloguing supplementary materials and organizing extra-curricular events, as directed by the DoS/ST
• Keep the teachers’ room, equipment and resources well-organized and in good condition
• Be familiar with the administrative procedures employed by the center
Core Development Opportunity for T2 and Strong T1 Teachers - Mentoring
• Serve as a mentor for a new teacher
• Share the perspective of a teacher with 1 – 2 years of experience through acting as a role-model and team-teaching
• Act as a review partner for the essential skills a new teacher needs to acquire during probation
• Work closely and attend meetings with the DoS and ST on a weekly or biweekly basis during the new teacher’s probation
• Be an essential part of the final probation decision and subsequent action plans
• Work closely with Regional Training Director to ensure quality (if applicable)

• Diploma level EFL teaching qualification and/or Masters in TEFL or related subject
• Experienced in teaching all age groups offered at EF Kids (3-18 years old students)
