Background:

The Origo Education Group is a global education provider which provides a range of intensive educational services to students through institutions located across the Asia-Pacific region. The group is formed from three educational companies located in Australia, Hong Kong and Shanghai. One of Orgio’s key services is to run international foundation courses in secondary or post-secondary institutions as bridging courses leading to Higher Education courses in overseas locations.

Origo Education Group is offering a one-year full-time EAP teacher to work at Longyou Kema International School, our partnered institution in Longyou, China.

Duties:

-Teach and undergo a mandatory 40 hours paid training in our Canberra classroom to gain experience in teaching students from different backgrounds.

- Teach regularly at a local education institution, you will be responsible for preparing lessons, teaching students in accordance with our EAP curriculum, and completing general teaching duties.

- The general class size ranges from 15 to 20 students in each class. Approximately around 20-25 hours of teaching per week.

-You will also be responsible for marking students’ work and providing them with necessary feedback, criticism, encouragement and support.
Another requirement will be to help students prepare for crucial tests and examinations.

- Other duties including in-service teacher training, course work evaluation and observation.

Qualifications and Requirements:
-TESOL certification and/or Diploma of Teaching or Education and/or Education related Degree are highly desirable but not necessary (Final year students are also encouraged to apply)
-Experience and qualifications in Education, Linguistics, English or related fields are highly desirable but not necessary (ESL certificate Training and will be provided if the candidate has no ESL experience and background)
-A high level of integrity with an appreciation of working with diverse cultures
-Warm, accessible, enthusiastic and caring-Energetic and creative with a passion for working in education
-Outstanding written and verbal communication skills-Native English speaker (from qualified English-speaking countries: USA, Canada, Australia, UK, and New Zealand or proven qualifications of native English speaker ability)
-Experience in teaching will be advantageous.
