The role is based out of the Group HQ offices in Chiswick and has a global remit for Customer Insight and KPIs, Strategic Product Development and Best Practice 'go to market'. This role reports into the Group Commercial Director and works closely with the business Stream leaders on the Group Executive committee and with members of the Group Commercial team. 

The successful application for this role will:

Lead the Group marketing strategy and team to support BSI business growth and brand recognition through the world. 

Develop our global customer engagement and products strategies, working closely and collaboratively with the business Streams, Sectors and Regions. 

Provide marketing leadership across the organization by building strong, customer-focused marketing teams, both in the Group headquarters and virtually across the world. 

Drive and support a customer-centric culture by providing customer and competitive insights to the senior leadership that supports Sector growth, key account development, new product roadmaps and brand strategy.

Lead the Group strategy of building BSI value propositions that offer integrated global solutions to our clients.  Establish BSI as a global thought leader in our key Sectors (Food, Healthcare and Built Environment) and domains (Operational Resilience, Supply Chain Resilience and Information Resilience). 

Develop and execute the roadmap to establish BSI as the global thought leader around Organizational Resilience.   

Responsibility for maintaining separation between business Streams of Customer Data and Market Engagement activity in accordance to Accreditation rules, the Royal Charter and BSI's emerging Professional Services activities.

The functional scope for the role includes all aspects of marketing and business development:

  • A change leader capable of championing and driving change across the business to deliver breakthrough levels of growth, profit and performance.
  • Able to develop, implement and articulate a Strategic Marketing vision for the business
  • Experienced in Product Development, NPD, Innovation and Portfolio Management
  • Experienced in defining, developing and delivering profitable growth initiatives in a global B2B environment that strengthens the BSI brand
  • Experienced in identifying, developing and executing Marketing best practice in a measurable, integrated and common way across a variety of global businesses working in a matrix.
  • In-market management experience. Must have experience of working across a matrix-led structure.
  • Extensive Marketing experience in a global organisation
  • An excellent leader who is convincing and determined to develop a strong team - staying focused on the agreed strategic priorities
  • A good communicator - internally and externally - at both Board and Operational levels.
  • A strong team player able to work with seniors/ peers/direct and indirect reports across a global business
  • Highly numerate/analytical with the ability to condense detailed/complex issues in a concise and digestible way
  • Results-orientated with a proven track record of success and a strong Customer Service outlook
  • Articulate and persuasive in the delivery of concepts/ideas beyond the norm of conventional wisdom.
