Objectives & Key Responsibilities 

HKSTP is devoted to driving the development of a vibrant I&T ecosystem in Hong Kong. With the strong resources & support from the government recently, our role is even significant. In view of the rapid expansion & continuous growth of the Company, we are looking for a seasoned candidate to support the Chief Commercial Officer in formulating strategies to identify partnership opportunities with global leading universities & research institutes and drive commercialization of the technologies from our partners. He/she is expected to take key responsibilities outlined below:- 

• Develop and implement effective programmes to engage renowned universities and research institutes with objectives to bring in R&D activities and attract entrepreneurship & talents to HK;
• Formulate commercialization strategy and drive its execution for targeted technology research outcomes;
• Collect market intelligence such as global technology trends, innovation landscape, & industry needs and engage industrial partners to support and deploy innovative solutions in real applications; ;
• Build and maintain good relationships with high-tech companies, industry leaders, universities, research institutions, start-up communities, incubators, investors, government authorities, etc. to build the pipeline of technology commercialization opportunities and facilitate partnership formation;;
• Lead the engagement and business development activities including but not limited to delegation visits/roadshows to achieve successful commercialization outcomes;
• Support other initiatives of the Commercial Division and perform such other duties as assigned by the Chief Commercial Officer

Requirements 

• Holder of university degree preferably in Engineering- or Science-related subjects; post-graduate degree preferred; 
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in new business / market development, of which at least 5 years in managerial level; Candidates with less experience will be considered for lower positions;
• Experienced in technology transfer / commercialization in any of the following areas will be a definite advantage – Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Healthcare, IoT, Fintech, microelectronics, advanced materials, biotech, biomedical technology;
• Knowledgeable about intellectual properties, technology transfer, technology licensing, incubation and investment of startups, technology trends, government policies and incentives for I&T development;
• Extensive network with academia, high-tech companies, industries, startup communities, investors, government and regulatory bodies;
• Strong business acumen and leadership skills with excellent command of spoken/written English and Mandarin;
• Personal attributes: versatile and dynamic, mature and entrepreneurial flair with excellent interpersonal & influencing skills; passionate with can-do attitude;
