COLLEGE OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION
Established in 2000, the College of International Education (CIE) is a self-funded unit of the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) offering full-time Associate Degree and Undergraduate Honours Degree programmes at both the HKBU Kowloon Tong and Shatin Shek Mun campuses. It is a major education providing unit of the School of Continuing Education (SCE), one of the seven Faculties/Schools of HKBU. CIE currently enrolls about 4,000 students and is committed to sustaining the University’s mission of providing quality whole-person higher education with a Christian heritage. English is used as the medium of instruction at the College.
Director

The Director of CIE will initiate strategic planning and provide leadership to meet the mission and objectives of the CIE. He/She is expected to (i) oversee the day-to-day operation of CIE at both Kowloon Tong and Shatin Shek Mun campuses; (ii) initiate, plan, lead and review the programmes of the CIE for the effective provision of quality education to the students; (iii) reach out to and network with various stakeholders in the promotion of programmes on offer and building of a positive image of the CIE; (iv) create a conducive and inspiring learning environment for students in well-established facilities on both campuses; and (v) ensure prudent budgeting and allocation of resources. As a senior member of the SCE management team, the Director of CIE will also work together with other Division Heads to assist the Dean in the strategic development of the School.
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree with substantial teaching and administrative experience, preferably in post-secondary / higher education setting. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent leadership, superb supervisory skill, be familiar with the trends and developments in the post-secondary education of Hong Kong, and own proven organisational and management abilities. He/She should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua.
Appointment Terms:
Initial appointment will normally be made on a fixed-term contract of three years, which will be renewable subject to mutual agreement. The University offers a competitive salary package commensurate with qualifications and experience of the selected candidate, including retirement/gratuity benefits of up to 15% of basic salary, annual leave, medical and dental scheme, and cash allowance where appropriate.
