Job Description

This position can based in Shanghai or Wuxi or Guangzhou.


JOB SUMMARY

This position will provide direct support to the Global Lean Six Sigma Director by setting lean six sigma vision and strategy,deploying organization design to foster continuous improvement and human development, eliminating barriers by enabling effective communication about Lean Six Sigma strategy & deployment, and being the subject matter experts in lean six sigma principles, values, philosophies and tools. This position requires to effectively mentoring at all levels of the organization while exceeding both bottom line and people development within area of expertise.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Setting lean six sigma global vision and strategy

  • Contribute with the design of Jabil’s lean six sigma vision and strategy for area of expertise
  • Be the architect and leader of lean transformation efforts for Jabil’s leadership teams
  • Enable the implementation of lean six sigma plans directed at the achievement of the organization’s purpose
  • Advise Global Lean Six Sigma Mangers on metrics to gauge lean six sigma maturity within the organization
  • Ensure alignment and synchronization of Jabil’s Lean Six Sigma mission/vision/purpose that support business plans

2. Deploying organization design to foster continuous improvement and human development

  • Track and analyze Jabil metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and work with team to drive successful design and implementation of solutions
  • Deliver bottom line results through successful implementation of high impact projects
  • Integrate lean six sigma principles, values, philosophies and tools for driving improvement
  • Encourage risk taking and experimentation using the scientific method within the organization
  • Establish processes, systems and enablers to create a learning organization
  • Ensure that the process supersedes the leader – creating an environment where leadership changes are non-disruptive

3. Eliminating barriers by enabling effective communication about lean six sigma strategy & deployment

  • Communicate Jabil’s lean six sigma vision and strategy to the organization
  • Reach out to leadership to ensure understanding of lean six sigma
  • Communicate a sense of urgency throughout the organization around the need for “Continuous Improvement”
  • Foster respect for people and humility as they mentor and coach others on their lean journey

4. Being the subject matter experts in lean six sigma principles, values, philosophies and tools Remain up to date on latest trends in lean manufacturing through benchmarking and participation in various Lean consortiums
  • Be an SME and teacher, mentor and coach for high level improvement projects
  • Work with cross functional experts within Jabil to get project teams assistance they need to overcome roadblocks
  • Support Global LSS Mangers to establish mechanisms to teach, mentor and learn lean six sigma within the organization
  • Lead by example and model the desired behaviors and corporate values
  • Establish people development-education, motivation, empowerment and involvement
  • Encourage cross training, skills assessment, instructional goals, on-the-job training, teamwork, information sharing, suggestion systems and others to foster lean six sigma throughout all levels of the organization

MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reports to the Global Lean Six Sigma Director
  • Job is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management).
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum Six Sigma Black Belt certified by recognized organizations in the industry (e.g. ASQ, SME, Shingo Prize)

o For specific roles: Lean Master and Master Black Belt certified by recognized organizations in the industry

  • Project and facilitation experience in a heavily matrixed environment
  • Or equivalent combination of education, training & experience
  • Subject matter expert in a certain area of business
  • Detail oriented with a strong organizational approach to work and in managing data
  • Experienced in change management, project management and financial management
  • Qualified & experienced trainer
  • Excellent Leadership and communication skills
  • Track record showing continual improvement of personal skills
  • Proficient and knowledgeable in all areas related to operations
  • Results-driven change agent
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 8 to 10 years experience in Manufacturing Management, Engineering Management or Project Management with at least 5 years working in multicultural and multifunctional environments
