How will you make an impact? 

This position is a part of the Research Safety Market Division (RSD) HR generalist team and will provide core, common and consistent HR solutions to the RSD commercial employee population across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. Additionally, collaborate with the European HR team to ensure global support to Global Export leadership team and employees. As Director Human Resources, you will align HR services and responsibilities with the business needs, working closely with the Vice President, Sales and the extended leadership team. Through this collaborative and consultative approach, you will define and execute plans to address the strategic people needs of the organization and functions and serve as a key leadership team member, contributing to overall strategic people impacts. Also, this position is responsible for coordination of day-to-day Human Resource activities of 1-5 direct/indirect reports including: positive employee relations, recruiting and selection, HR compliance, on-boarding, recordkeeping, training and development, compensation and performance management.

Sponsor programs and initiatives that drive D&I across the commercial organization.

· Collaborate with leadership team which consists of 10+ RSD Vice President and VP Global Export on organizational effectiveness, design and development initiatives; using tools, processes and past successes, ensure successful facilitation of organization changes.

· Coach leadership in assigned business unit/client groups on issues including application of HR policies and processes, restructuring, and complex employee issues in order to strengthen overall organizational capability. May coach employees on people management, career development, personal leadership, and 360 assessments.

· Enhance people development within the areas supported; leverage existing tools and processes, ensuring leadership accountability, a focus on talent/roles with the greatest potential/needs, and raising the bar on what the organization delivers relative to performance feedback and employee development.

· Participate in the broader CCG Generalist team to drive Core, Common and Consistent HR solutions such as process improvement as well as participating in other broad scale HR projects and initiatives.

Delegate work assignments, gives authority to work independently, sets expectations and monitors delegated activities performance feedback; and develops subordinates’ skills and encourages growth.

· Partner with business leadership and Talent leader to assess current talent (i.e., Human Resources Review (HRR), Performance Management and Development (PMD), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), etc. with strategic and operating goals)

· Develop or implement long-term talent strategies that ultimately improve the performance of the organization and set it up for longer term success

· Conduct Employee/Labor Relations investigations and provide recommendation for resolution.

· Collaborate with COE Experts to execute and implement large scale or company-wide HR initiatives (i.e., roll out annual programs, new programs/policies, etc.).

· Drive recruitment efforts within established division guidelines working with the Recruiting COE. Partner with managers in establishing hiring and compensation strategies.

· Conduct compensation analysis working with COE and sales compensation team in regards to regional and national compensation analysis.

· Ability to act as a credible coach and facilitator and, based on our values, a role model for effective leadership and performance

· Comfortable in a highly complex, highly matrixed, fast-paced environment

· Perform other duties as assigned.

· May need to travel up to 25% of time.


How will you get here? 

· Bachelor's degree in HR or business related field. Advanced Degree or HR Certification Preferred

· Minimum 8 years human resources experience as a generalist or HR manager

· Working knowledge and understanding of labor and employment laws (e.g., NLRA, FMLA, Title VII, FCRA, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, HIPAA) and other HR concepts. Compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.

· Supervisory experience is a plus.

· Solid experience and expertise using HRIS. Workday experience is a plus.

· Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, work independently, multi-task, and follow up on projects and issues.

· Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to work within a diverse, cross-functional team across multiple sites.

· Proven project and time management skills with ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Self motivated; bias for action.

· Strong analytical skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

· Ability to understand real-world business issues /opportunities and determine appropriate data, metrics, and methods of analysis to use to gain required insights.
