Job Description

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:


  • Support Global Initiatives and lead Market Game Plan with implementation
  • Initiatives Define and implement process standards for APAC SCM
  • Implement market and Global process standard
  • Identify /implement Global/Market best-practices
  • Continuous Improvement actions and process
  • Support Scale-up with new Incubated process and networks
  • Drive prototype development in collaboration with partner
  • Scan and assess the impact of new business models & tech
  • Identify and implement internal and external best-practices
  • Give input on market processes and best-practices to Global SCD
  • Monitor and continuously improve process perform
  • Lead /coordinate SCM projects, ensure the execution of the solution and actions
  • Drive internal SCM functional training and external communication

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead development of the optimal deployment strategy to increase operational efficiency and customer service using the advance network design tool;
  • Engage in development of the modeling deployment scenarios with various business stakeholders to identify key requirements and constrains to further execute supply chain network modeling;
  • Align with SCM, Finance and IT teams to ensure the most accurate data collection for the supply chain modeling using multiple data sources;
  • Participate in developing supply chain network and deployment models from the engineering point of view using business requirements and constraints, working closely with DC network design team.
  • Analyze and prioritize key business requirements from various internal stakeholders to develop a list of scenarios for the target design of the supply chain;
  • Analyze and prioritize various external factors which will have an impact on the deployment strategy optimization to include in the scenarios;
  • Develop business cases including comprehensive analysis of cost and customer service benefits for the target design of the supply chain;
  • Effectively communicate benefits of the target supply chain design and deployment strategy from the business point of view to various senior stakeholders inside the company;
  • Develop and foster a data driven culture by actively engaging with the business stakeholders and promoting the benefits of the advance optimization and simulation tools.
  • Define and validate with the project leader and the business stakeholders a scope and plan of the workstream;
  • Communicate effectively project tasks inside the workstream acting as an intermediary between the business requirements and engineering aspects of the modelling;
  • Lead and drive initiatives and projects for service upgrade and continuous improvement;
  • Monitor the external environment with sales and marketing leadership and identify opportunities to fulfill the corporate strategy.

  • To bench mark with market about adidas SCM market place and support Demand planning team for the quick response;
  • Identify opportunities for business process improvements including opportunities to support business growth. Influence stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and then directly contribute to the execution of the solutions where appropriate.
  • Provide business logic, functional requirements and technical translation inputs to the blueprinting of future planning and execution systems as required.
  • Take ownership for business performance updates to senior management.

  • Internal:

Warehouse Planning, OBF, Inbound Logistics, PO, HR/Admin, IT, Finance, SCI/LO/factories, BP&O, CSD, Own Retail, global Operations/CoE Logistics, other global functions

  • External:

Customers, 3PL, vendors, local government


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of the key characteristics of the supply chain network, inventory management, logistics and warehouse processes;
  • Ability to develop experimental and analytic plans for data modeling processes, ability to accurately determine cause and effect relations and to actively seek connections between data evaluation and business results;
  • Ability to convert business problems into analytical problems and thereafter converting back complex information and multiple data points into clear actionable business insights and to make calls where data is absent;
  • Combination of technical skills and business savvy enough to interface with all levels and disciplines within organization, e.g. ability to articulate key messages and create clear, concise and actionable materials for internal stakeholders;
  • Ability to influence internal stakeholders in their adoption of the simulation tool;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills – able to identify, analyze and propose solutions to various business issues.
  • Proven ability to be self-directed while working under tight deadlines
  • Strong communications skills (both written and verbal)
  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate discussions in small and large groups

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or above in technical/quantitative discipline, Supply Chain / Logistics related major preferred
  • 10+ years working experience in supply chain related area with at least 5 years’ experience in a managerial position
  • Proven track record in project management, change management, process standardization and influencing others.
  • Lead regional projects/teams or work with cross locations/countries teams
  • Experience in retail or FMCG is a plus
