This position is expected to lead Cotton Council International’s (CCI) efforts against our primary target audience which is spinning mills and textile manufacturers located in China. The number one responsibility for this role is to identify, educate and convert the highest volume and/or most influential spinning mills (A and B accounts) in China (either physically located or headquarters location with decision making for cotton) to a higher percentage use of US cotton. And, subsequently these mills will become COTTON USA licensees. From a manufacturer standpoint, this role will identify, educate and convert vertical manufacturing operations as well as other entities in the supply chain to become COTTON USA licensees and promote the use of US cotton.

Required Attributes/ Skills:

• 15+ years of experience with textile manufacturing in different capacities.
• Experience in sales. Ideally calling on textile companies in China.
• Technical knowledge of how to spin cotton, manufacture fabric and garments. Knowledge of the vocabulary and issues and is very comfortable in a manufacturing setting.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills both in groups and one on one.
• Able to quickly integrate new thoughts and make connections.
• Creative. Able to generate new ideas.
• Results oriented. Sets goals, measures performance and achieves outstanding results.
• Team player-able to work collaboratively with many different kinds of people.
• Good manager of people. Knows how to motivate employees for superior performance and to handle/improve poor performers.
• Deep knowledge of China and Chinese people
• Fluent in Mandarin and English: spoken and written
• Undergraduate degree required. Masters degree preferred.
