Responsibilities:

• Maintain specialist knowledge in plant science and related cultivation in agriculture. Stay abreast of new developments in the area of expertise and advice on applicability in business group processes.

• Lead team to propose and evaluate new ideas and support the initiation of business group proposals and projects in order to contribute to innovations and new concepts in the area of expertise.

• Lead team to execute the agreed research programs / experiments, evaluate it and report the results. Plan and organize execution of research activities in the field of responsibility.

• Participate in assigned business projects, in which the specific area of expertise has to be applied

• Support and contribute registration and patent filing in the field of expertise.

• Provide guidance and coaching to plant scientists, operators, technicians.

• Establish and maintain an internal and external network in the area of expertise.

• Participate in publishing scientific publications / presentations; participate at scientific conferences and costumer events according to the need of the research activities. Keep up-to date with scientific literature.

Requirements:

• PhD in horticulture or plant science & cultivation in agriculture. (or equivalent qualification) with 5-10 years working experience.

• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience of plant science & cultivation.

• Application of modern analytical instruments to plant science & cultivation is required.

• Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

• The holder must be fluent in Mandarin and English.

• Organizational skills and experienced in leading a team.

• Good business partnering skills working with various people across different organizations both internal as well as external.

• Experience of study or work abroad would be an advantage.
