Job Summary:
1) Deliver success in engaging product value proposition characterization in early stage innovation with sound approach and strong fundamental in optical engineering
2) Provide optical metrology testing and characterization support, analyze technical data and own responsibility to prepare technical materials for customer communication
3) Create innovative and cost-effective metrology products and support technologies that can quickly enable new products

Day to Day Responsibilities:
Understand technical requirements and manage testing plan internally to gain fundamental knowledge to address technical challenges at customer in new product evaluation and adoption stage
Lead, execute and support current projects in the areas of optical metrology, optical testing and assembly of opto-mechanical systems
Perform general experimental laboratory work in the boundary of optics, electronics and mechanics
Conduct glass composition characterization for market share tracking
Assist strengthened cover glass stress profile metrology development and facilitate new metrology deployment to the field

Education & Experience
3 - 10 years of work experience after completion of M.S. or PhD - preferably in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Required Skills:
Ability to design, build and test novel optical experiments from ground up
Deep understanding of optics, polarization and waveguide theory
Strong background in image and signal processing
Familiarity with statistical data analysis and working with large data-sets
Strong understanding of optical materials with preference towards glasses

Desired Skills:
Knowledge of ion-exchanged or proton exchange integrated optics
Experience with prism-coupled and scattered-light optical measurement systems
Experience with photometry of displays.
Background or past experience in glass and ceramics
Understanding on touch technologies and related cover glass fabrication/processes
Excellent written and oral presentation skills in English and Chinese
