Job Summary:

  • Manages assigned inventory and receipts.
  • Operates with limited supervision.
  • Reviews are held periodically with manager to monitor goals and objectives.
  • Complies with regulatory guidelines; understands and applies GMP, corporate financial/purchasing policies and site operating procedures.
  • Signature authority to requisition and/or commit company funds, in accordance with site and corporate financial policies.
  • Trains others within the area on materials procedures and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Develops and executes sound material management and forecasting practices to manage the flow of material between suppliers, manufacturing areas and internal customers.
  • Creates and manages area or country product/shipment allocations during times of short supply. Maintains inventory levels and order policy modifiers to meet monthly financial goals.
  • Optimizes inventory, customer service and profitability of each commercial operations area.
  • Analyzes trend data from a variety of sources to determine true causes of problems.
  • Develops plans to anticipate, resolve and avoid future problems.
  • Coordinates and supports new product launches and retirements.
  • Serves as team leader in projects that are cross functional in nature.
  • Communicates internal and external to ADD Abbott worldwide and to outside suppliers.
  • Responsible for identifying and leading initiatives to improve team performance on critical Demand Planning KPIs.
  • Provide weekly product availability updates to management.
  • Responsible for releasing field service and customer sales orders.
  • Perform inventory impact assessments and cut-in timing approval of engineering changes.
  • Travel: 0-5% (USA only)

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6-10(+) years manufacturing, materials, finance or marketing/sales experience.  
  • 2-3 years supervisory or project management experience
  • Supply Chain and/or previous demand planning experience a plus. 
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs, Medical Devices, and Biologics.
  • Familiar with Oracle, SAP or forecasting software a plus, MS Excel and database experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills  
  • Exceptions to the degree requirement will be considered.

Preferred Education, Experience, etc.:

  • Demand Planning experience from medical device and/or medical instrumentation, pharmaceutical, or similar industries/companies. Will also consider experience from automotive industry.
  • BPICS certification
