Job Description

Defence Program Manager

 

 

Major Tasks:

  • Coordinate the various pursuits and programs (collectively the ‘book of business’) for Oracle’s work with the ADF
  • As a subject matter expert, actively drive the success of Oracle’s program engagement with Defence programs
  • Support the Strategic Client Director and Defence team with expert advice on Defence program management functions
  • Manage the strategic risks and issues associated with Oracle’s engagement with the Department of Defence
  • Commercial manager (inc authority to operate) for DoD engagements
  • Attend Defence Procurement and Program Management meetings where Oracle requires representation
  • Work collaboratively across line of business to support all Oracle programs at Defence
  • Use existing network within Defence to create channels for future growth

 

 

Experience:

  • Worked as a Defence Progam Manager on a joint or Single Service program
  • Ex military officer at minimum Major(E)  rank ], Joint experience mandatory, Staff College and/or CTMC graduate highly preferred, operational experience highly desirable, multi-national experience highly desirable, WOG or multi-agency experience desirable
  • Detailed understanding of the Defence Capability Life Cycle (CLC) mandatory
  • Proven delivery using at least two Project/Program Management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, AGILE, MSP,  APF, Waterfall, PMBOK etc.) mandatory
  • Experience in, and knowledge of Defence Procurement processes highly preferred
  • Preferred background in, and understanding, of  Defence CIOG, highly desirable
  • Min clearance NV1 mandatory, NV2 (or higher) preferred
  • Experience in contract negotiations and contract management highly desirable
  • Highly developed verbal presentation skills mandatory
  • Highly developed written skills mandatory
  • Exceptional ability to develop positive, lasting, client relationships and internal relationships mandatory
  • Proven ability to create and lead teams and maintain team cohesion in high pressure environments highly preferred
  • Proven ability to resolve issues, and manage risk mandatory
  • Background in Stakeholder engagement and management highly preferred

 

Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product.

Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products. Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the project from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Ten or more years of project management, product design or related experience needed.
