Data Analyst
THE ROLE:
As a Data Analyst, Board Operations you will lead the effort to gather business intelligence from production systems to allow the team greater insight into operational performance, metrics, inventory positions and overall cost management. This position gives you the opportunity to work with software and hardware engineers, production planners, BU program managers and the manufacturing plants. You will be exposed to the incredible world of Computing & 3D Graphics to learn how a piece of silicon is transformed into a cutting-edge computing solution.
THE PERSON:
Your analytical problem-solving skills, data modelling, database knowledge and process-based thinking are key tools that you will use to improve performance and find ways to help teams work better together. The ideal candidate should be equally comfortable working on solo projects as he or she would be working in a team. Good communication and presentation skills, managing updates to internal customers and senior management, will be a valuable attribute.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works directly with management, end users, or business representatives capturing and documenting user requirements for large and small projects and designing appropriate data solutions, reports and/or dashboards.
- Builds, tests and deploys projects, enhancements, and bug fixes for data systems within Board Operations.
- Work with our contract manufacturing partners to extract raw data from factory shop-floor data systems and manipulate the data to gather intel about factory yields, efficiencies etc
- Further develop the database and processes to manage weekly and monthly reconciliation of shipments against forecast.
- Develop macros to ensure accuracy of quarterly chargebacks, cost reviews and financial rollups to BUs.
- Resolves data issues including incomplete, duplicate or missing data.
- Works with both internal and external IT teams to automate data collection.
- Provides end-user support and training
IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Five years of experience in building and supporting data analysis tools and infrastructure that support a wide range of disciplines.
- Proven experience with data modeling, flow charting, statistical methods, and cost models.
- Knowledge of relational databases and report writing tools
- Experience training new users and creating release documentation.
- Willing to service other time zones and be flexible in work hours as this is a global role.
- Demonstrated ability to work with little to no oversight, has initiative and confidence to complete tasks from start to finish.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
- Strong technical acumen with Business Intelligence software and tools including the following: SQL, Power BI, SAP, Access, SharePoint, Agile, MS Excel
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in Information Systems, Statistics, Inventory Management or Engineering.
