The following position, based in Shanghai, is now open for application:


1. Customer Services Agent


Job Description:


A. As part of the Shanghai Pudong traffic team, this job forms the basis of smooth running of operations and customer services at airports.

B. The role will include passenger handling, traffic operations and administrative functions.

C. Staff will also be given responsibility for one aspect of station operations, such as catering, baggage handling, administrative duties etc.

D. Passenger & Flight Handling

1. Responsible for flight operation duties and leading of service partner staff

2. Supervise activities related to traffic handling including pre-flight planning, checkin, departure and arrival handling, baggage, lost and found, ramp, lounge, delay handling and any passenger enquiries

3. Proactively interact with customers in all areas of customer contact and ensure that passengers are well taken care of and special assistance is provided as required

4. Follow up on post flight actions and administration

5. Leading service partner staff in handling of irregular situations

E. Administration

i. Maintain proper records and filing system on flights and daily operations

ii. Verification of invoices relating to station operation

iii. Carry out investigation relating to discrepancies, lapses and errors

iv. Review work procedures and implement solutions to improve service, efficiency and/or cost savings

v. Build relationships with key partners for station administration

Requirements:

A. Fluent in oral and written English and Chinese

B. Knowledge of office applications e.g. Microsoft Word/Excel

C. Able to interact with customers and have strong communication skills

D. Hard working and a good team player

E. Proactive in seeking solutions to resolve problems

F. Disciplined and respectful of local guidelines and company directives

G. Able to work in a high stress environment

H. Able to work on roster shifts at the airport, being on call for emergencies or when necessary (e.g. flight delay, diversion, crisis)

I. Previous experience in customer oriented jobs will be beneficial


Others:

On-the-job training and self-learning from e-resources provided is expected of the staff. Staff will be sent to attend trainings in Singapore at appropriate milestones during his/her career.


When appropriate and with the support of the department head, the staff can apply to join the Trainee programme or undergo attachment programmes at various Singapore Airlines passenger and cargo business units such as Sales, Public Relations & Industry Affairs, E-Commerce & Technology, Sales Planning, Passenger Services, Airport Operations, Human Resources & Admin, and Finance. The actual postings will be subject to job openings and the staff’s suitability. Such postings could be to other cities across China, therefore mobility within the country is preferred.
