Reporting to, and duties as directed by the Lead Curriculum Developer and / or Academic Director:

• Assist in the creation of curriculum and scope and sequence documents for new courses;
• Assist in revision and updating of existing curriculum and scope and sequence documents;
• Conduct research into curriculum from a variety of Chinese sources Chinese Government guidelines, Provincial and regional Government guidelines, etc., and provide reports and recommendations to the Academic Department;
• Create fusion framework documents, ensuring that curriculum that is in planning and development is mapped to Chinese government requirements;
• Prepare lesson plans, PPTs, worksheets and other lesson materials as an element of larger courses or curricula;
• Source or create visuals, photos, drawings, and graphics as required in support of material creation;
• Communicate effectively with managers and peers regarding workflow and work schedules, provide management with regular reports on workload;

CANDIDATE PROFILE

LANGUAGE:

The ideal candidate will be bilingual and able to write in fluent and accurate Chinese and English. All candidates must be able to communicate orally in English, and to write fluently in Chinese at an academic level.

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

The candidate will have extensive experience (4+ years) in Chinese K-12 curriculum development, with authoritative knowledge of the Chinese government’s regulatory framework for K-12 curriculum.

The candidate should have awareness of the value and benefit of modern methodological concepts such as group and pair work, student-centered teaching, peer teaching, project based lessons, inductive methods, etc.

Successful candidates will be creative and imaginative in development of engaging and involving student centered lessons.

CHARACTER

Ability to work independently and be accountable to schedules and deadlines with minimal direct supervision.

Ability to work collaboratively in an online development environment.
