The School of Continuing and Professional Studies (CUSCS) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, founded in 1965, is a self-financing extension unit with the mission to provide quality lifelong education to the community. To further expand and enhance the wide variety of professional and continuing education (PCE) programmes, CUSCS now invites applications for the post of Course Co-ordinator I/II (carrying the job title of ‘Senior Programme Administrator (Training and Development)’ or ‘Programme Administrator (Training and Development)’) to provide strong co-ordination and support for the daily operations, training initiatives and innovative developments of part-time PCE programmes offered to young adults, working adults and learners in their advancing years.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s degree in the field of language and culture in Korean and Japanese; (ii) at least eight years’ post-qualification teaching and/or working experience in programme administration, preferably at the tertiary level; (iii) experience in co-ordinating and quality-assuring part-time instructors as well as language progarmmes at different proficiency levels; (iv) experience in taking up teaching of PCE courses and corporate training programmes; (v) the initiative to build new networks and explore opportunities that connect different disciplines or collaborators for new programmes or training initiatives; and (vi) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua). Applicants with less experience may be considered for appointment as Course Co-ordinator II. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to two years (with contract-end gratuity for a two-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
