Job Title: Corporate Responsibility Specialist (Japan Direct Source)

General Summary:

Lead and develop Standard of Manufacturing Practices (SMP) strategy and objectives for Japan Direct Source Operations and distributors. Develop supplier compliance ownership through training, monitoring, remediation, capacity building and self-monitoring. Serve as primary SMP liaison for the respective retail and distributor business partners. Support SMP program operations in the region which Japan Direct Source suppliers are located.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Japan Direct Source (JDS) office team to develop Standard of Manufacturing Practices (SMP) strategy and objectives for JDS suppliers across Asia.
• Develop supplier social compliance ownership through supplier training, monitoring, remediating, capacity building and self-monitoring. Regularly evaluate supplier performance and identity areas for improvements. Develop specific SMP objectives and performance measurements.
• Manage SMP program operations including 3rd party audit program development, training and evaluation, capacity building program development and evaluation, and SMP systems management for the business units.
• Build industrial partnerships which may include engagements with other brands, licensees, vendors, NGOs, consultants and multi-lateral institutions in Asia. Evaluate external monitoring program includes Better Work and FLA which are applicable for JDS suppliers.
• Partner with external and internal stakeholders to identify, develop, implement and measure success of CR projects and initiatives in Asia.

Minimum Educational/Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in social science, economics, business management, manufacturing or industrial engineering. Post graduate qualification in Corporate Responsibility, business administration or supply chain management preferred.

• At least 3 years of work experience in the field of CSR, social or environmental responsibility preferably in a multi-national organization. Experience in project management and/or regional partnership would be an advantage.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English, and Mandarin Chinese. Proficiency in Japanese language is strongly preferred.
• Able to travel and work independently in Asia.
