SSD Firmware Testing Execution

Description:

Exciting opportunities awaits you at Micron’s fast growing Shanghai SSD test execution team. As a SSD (Solid State Drive) Firmware Testing Execution (固件测试工程师/嵌入式软件测试执行) in Micron’s SSD group, you will work with an exceptionally talented core team based in Shanghai, to test and verify controller firmware for non-volatile storage solutions in the consumer and enterprise segments. You will also can work closely with fellow US based firmware engineers, system hardware design engineers, product engineers to solve cross-functional design issues.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Find bugs through white and black box testing;
• Execute test script to validate the product’s functional specifications behavior;
• Report detected bugs and update report to project team;
• Buildup SSD test environment and fix environment issues;
• Develop script/tool to improve working efficiency.
  

Qualifications:

Successful candidates for this position will have:

• At least one years or equivalent experience in software or firmware testing.
• Experience on script/tool development with python/shell script language is a plus.
• Fluent English writing and speaking.
• Meticulous and attention to details, patience and passion, strive to ensure maximum test cases coverage.
• Clear headed, goal oriented, systematic and methodical approach in software testing
• Ability to enter clear and concise documentation is a must.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team, able to multitask effectively in fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of mass storage systems (hard disk), Flash memory (NAND / NOR), and device drivers (optional but strong plus).
• Experience in storage test equipment such as flexstar, drive master (optional but strong plus).
• Knowledge of mass storage interfaces such as ATA, SATA, and/or SAS/FC (optional but strong plus).
• Knowledge of SSD flash translation layer, wear leveling, garbage collection (optional but strong plus).
• Experience in test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic/bus analyzers (optional but plus).
  

Education:

BS in Electrical / Computer Engineering or Computer Science is preferred
