As a Contract Specialist you will be responsible for managing the contract review process within DMRO with respect to Product, System and Service business in various industries in order to mitigate risks from tender to project award in all aspects incl. commercial, contractual, legal and taxation, for Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area in Shanghai, China.

Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will provide inputs and advice to sales, projects and Management on implications and/or risk exposures to business costs, operational and legal aspects during project execution.

Your responsibilities

  • Reviewing, drafting and providing contractual advice with recommended deviations to non-standard contractual terms, LOI, NDA and other contractual docs in accordance with ABB’s company policy and guidelines in order to mitigate legal and contractual risks for RARO China.
  • Negotiating on Contracts
  • Completing the relevant tab of database and legal slides before RR meetings
  • Presenting legal and commercial terms to the management during RR meetings
  • Providing legal advice regarding contract setup, back-to-back terms to mitigate project risks. credit and tax assessment according to available information
  • Providing inputs and advice to sales, projects and Management on implications and/or risk exposures to business costs, operational and legal aspects during project execution
  • Participating in claim management and conducting training within the organization
  • Performing other task assigned by line manager

Your background

  • 3 years of the experience in specific legal, contract review and negotiation topics preferably in the systems and plant business even not related to Robotics business
  • Sound knowledge of legal and contractual requirements for international projects, including Trade Terms, Customs and Tax issues like permanent establishment
  • Knowledge and experience in MS Office (Excel, PPT, etc.)
  • A bachelor’s degree in law or Business Administration and / or equivalent experience
  • Fluency in English in speaking and writing, mother tongue Chinese
